[Mappack 1.4] Status Low

Hi there,

I've got good and bad news... mostly bad...
After a long hard period of time I have decided to leave the Mappack Modding Team.
This happened already a couple of months ago.
Since then there has been barely or maybe even no progress at all on MP1.4
I'm sorry for those who anticipated it for so long, but didn't get any chance to witness MP1.4 become reality.

Now, there are 2 choices for the people out there.
  1. Do you want the unfinished version of Mappack 1.4? (Mappack 1.4 beta3)
  2. Do you want the Mappack to get finished properly?
If you choose for option number 2, I will need every ounce of support I can get.
Together with a smaller group, we will turn Mappack 1.4 into a real finished version.

I (and I think a couple of others as well) feel very guilty for not finishing up Mappack 1.4 sooner or finishing at all, but our lifes, opinions and a lot of other things just clashed and personally for me the pressure was too much to handle.

I'll leave a poll open until Summer Holiday. If we don't get enough response at all, we won't release 1.4 (atleast not any time soon).

Thanks for everything so far, hope there are still people interested enough to vote on the poll...

[Mappack 1.4] Fully back on track!!!

Hey guys,

In the last few months, we were on and off working on the mappack.
There wasn't a lot of motivation for it, a lot of struggle and confusion as well.
I'm glad to say we have gotten rid of nearly all our struggles and confusions and we understand fully what we are doing and where we are heading.

We had trouble with the placements of maps mostly. SAMP placement and SA placement are 2 completely different things. the code for it is so confusing compared to each other and a real headache trying to get from one IPL into the other.
We managed to find some better tools and programs for it and now we are able to get stuff done quickly and swiftly. Instead of a monthly task, placing a map will probably be cut down to between a day and a week, depending on the factors that play a big role, like finding a free spot, how many dff's there are and also how much it actually is.

Also, i'm glad to inform you that we have Naka helping us out with this.
As a matter of fact, together with him we were able to understand things even better.
Not only that, we will now be working on the server more as well!
Jay and I are getting some server scripting lessons from Naka so we are able to get stuff done even better and faster for the server.

Now, i'm not saying Naka is fully back, but we're all very happy he's here to help.
Most importantly, we are thrilled to be hanging out with him again.

This will be the last post of 2014, not sure when we will post in 2015 to be honest.
Probably nothing will happen in February, since GTA V will release in late January and almost everybody from the mappack modding team is getting it, including myself.
As soon as we have more updates, I will make another post.

Oh right, just one more last thing...
If you want to make any suggestions, you can do it right here on the uD forums.
Just make sure to follow the template ;)
More interactions through the forums will come very very soon.

Hey guys,

We're ready to get this out to everyone now.
Please share this around so we can get the best feedback on it.
We would really appreciate it a lot!

[Mappack 1.4] Step 3 - Confirmed New Maps

Hiya guys,

I apologise for such a late post.
There has been activity in mappack, but also in tons of other things.
I lost track of everything and ended up forgetting to inform you guys on the updates.

With that out of the way, i'm glad to announce we have placed some new maps.
So far, we got:
  • Transfagarasan
  • Okutama
  • Gokart Route2
  • Akagi (old version, retextured)
  • Tokyo Highway / Expressway (beta version, hopefully full version soon)
  • Gunsai Touge
  • Odaiba
This has been the progress so far.
At this point, we are still busy with converting and placing maps, but we are also still looking for new maps.
So if you have any good maps to share, please do so.
Hopefully we might be able to add it.
We really need a couple of extra touge's!

Also, we are going through the last fase of retexturing and it's really looking amazing.
We hope you guys will like the new fresh look on the old maps as much as we do.

This season we probably will not update a lot, so expect more next year ^^.

[Mappack 1.4] Step 2 - Textures v2

Hi guys,

The process so far with the textures is going great!
With Trick taking the lead on retexturing, the process that has been made is amazing!
So far, these maps have gotten retextures:

 - Autopolis
 - Old Irohazaka
 - Usui
 - Okaru
 - SinMyogi
 - Ebisu East (Higashi)
 - Bihoku
 - Project Touge
 - Drift Korea
 - Rokko

Most of them are made from scratch by Trick himself, some have just been touched up a bit to look slightly better.
Hopefully soon enough, we will have retextured every map.
New updates will be announced right after they have been made.

P.S. we have added new maps, but we have some trouble with placing them on the map.
They might not have any ramps to drive on like in previous versions, but we will try to keep those in. No guarantee on that though.

[Mappack 1.4] (Slowly) Back on track!

Hi guys,

We have been working from time to time on mappack itself, but its still at a minimum.
We will keep you guys up to date - maybe monthly - on the process itself.
Sorry for all the inconvience.
We hope you guys have been patient and still will be, because it's all worth it!

[Mappack 1.4] Delayed!!!

Hi guys,

I come with some sad news to some.
The mappack has been delayed.
The process is at minimum level and there won't be enough further updates for now to announce.
There are some technical reasons around it and some personal.
Till then, Mappack will be put on hold.
Hopefully it won't take to long.
The next update will probably tell whether the release will be delayed as well or not.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
